/TUNED Begins its Panamanian adventure with disaster, leaving us high and dry with nothing to film in a foreign country. Will we save the shoot? We search high and low in Panama to find any semblance of car culture. What we find instead is even better: street racing school buses.
Whenever I visit a different country, I always try to get behind the wheel and experience first hand the driving habits, customs, and many times straight up CRAZY maneuvers some drivers pull off. I visited Panama recently. This video shows a bit of the driving experience captured in just a few hours of driving. Unfortunately since I was there for vacation with the family, I couldn't dedicate too much time for video production. At least enjoy the video if you've never been to Panama.
It's the rainy season in Panama, and that means if we want to go fast, we're gonna need some AWD performance. Fortunately, we've got the keys to Race Lab's 900 HP Mitsubishi Evolution 7. Now if we can just find somewhere to run it....
How normal traffic looks like in Panama City Beach. Regardless of traffic, a great place to spend your vacation on one of the famous Florida resorts. Panama City Beach is in the CST time zone. http://www.visitpanamacitybeach.com/ http://panamacitybeach.com/ http://www.visitflorida.com/en-us/cities/panama-city-beach.html Visit and enjoy your Panama City Beach vacation.
Full blog post - http://trans-americas.com/blog/2013/07/vehicle-shipping-around-darien-gap-panama-to-colombia/ The Darien Gap between Panama (Central America) and Colombia (South America) is a 60 mile break in the Pan-America Highway. A road that connects Alaska at the top of North America to Tierra del Fuego at the bottom of South America. There are no roads through the Darien Gap and you can't drive between these two countries. This means that vehicles have to be shipped. Here's video of our truck being loaded ("stuffed") into a container in Colon, Panama and heading out of the container port in Cartagena, Colombia. Sadly I fudged the footage of the car being driven out of the container in Colombia. Check out more of our adventures on our Trans-Americas Journey - http://trans-americas....
